How to export your wallet private key from MetaMask?

Please note that your private key is extremely sensitive information. If someone gains access to your private key, they have full control over your wallet and assets. Ensure you are following security best practices and only exporting your private key when absolutely necessary.

Export your wallet

Access Your MetaMask Wallet

First, make sure you have MetaMask installed as a browser extension or mobile application and that you are logged in to your account.
Click on the MetaMask icon in your browser toolbar or open the mobile application.


Go to Account Details

In the MetaMask interface, click on the account icon (a circle in the top-right corner of the screen).
From the drop-down menu, select the Account Details option.


Export Private Key

Once in the Account Details page, look for an option labeled Export Private Key or similar. Click on it.
MetaMask will prompt you to enter your password to confirm that it’s really you trying to export the private key. Enter your password and click Confirm or Unlock.


Copy Your Private Key

After confirming your password, your private key will be displayed on the screen.
Copy the private key and store it securely. You might want to write it down on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place, or use a secure password manager.

Important Security Tips

Never share your private key with anyone. Anyone who knows your private key can access your wallet and funds.
Avoid storing your private key on your computer or online, as these locations can be vulnerable to hacks.
Make sure your computer and browser are free from malware before exporting your private key.
